RATP’s new central Paris bus depot specifies KPS piping to fuel fleet

Last update: | Advertorial

Project Overview

Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) Paris’ state-owned public transport operator, required a safe, high-performance plastic piping system for its new central bus station in Paris to outfit the pump room and connect it with the high flow dispenser system that fuels the Parisian bus fleet with diesel.

Problem

RATP required a high-performance piping system which would allow a 933 litre/minute flow rate to quickly supply diesel to their bus fleet. As the filling points were installed inside a garage building, a leak free zero permeation system was essential to eliminate risk of leakage or spillage inside the facility.

Solution

KPS’ conductive 4” (125/110mm) and 2” (75/63mm) double wall piping proved the perfect solution for this project, enabling the 933 litre/minute fuel flow rate required to supply diesel to the bus fleet, and exceeding RATP’s safety requirements.

Key Features Of KPS Piping For This Project

  • Interstitial space between the inner and outer pipes, providing an extra layer of security and allowing operators to monitor the space with the KPS KP315 leak detection system
  • Electrostatically safe (like the metal piping used in the past) avoiding potential static charge build-up.
  • Designed for fast, simple installation. KPS’ secondary containment electrofusion fittings are the only system on the market to weld both pipe walls simultaneously

Results

KPS piping provided a safe, easy-install solution which assures long-term performance.
