Petrobras names Aldemir Bendine as CEO to replace Foster
Brazilian state oil company Petrobras said February 5 on a statement that it had named Aldemir Bendine as CEO to replace Maria das Gracas Silva Foster, who had abruptly resigned hours earlier.
The mandate will stand until the company next shareholder meeting, the statement said.
Before his appointment, Bending was CEO of the Brazilian bank Banco do Brazil.
The company also appointed board directors to replace those who had resigned along with Foster hours earlier.
The resignation of Foster and some key executives occurs as the company is mired in a long investigation of the company finances by the country authorities.
As part of the announced changes, current Executive Manager of Downstream Logistics, Jorge Celestine Ramos, will take over from José Carlos Cosenza as Downstream Director, it said.
