The Pantry Inc. shareholders approve company sale

The Pantry Inc. shareholders have approved the company purchase by Couche-Tard as announced on December 2014, Couche Tard said in a recent press release.

The transaction is still pending and needs the final approval of regulator. Both parties have intention to close as soon as a review process expires in March, the release added.

Canada’s Couche-Tard had said in December that it bought The Pantry for $1.7 billion to strengthen its position in the US

Couche Tard has in total 6,303 convenience stores in North America of which 4,851 offer fuel.

It has 2,239 stores in Europe, mainly Scandinavia.
