Slovnaft completes the acquisition of 41 Agip stations in Slovakia

Slovnaft will take over all Agip gas stations located in Slovakia as of July 31, after respective parent companies MOL and Eni signed an agreement.

Last update:

Slovakian retailer Slovnaft will add 41 Agip gas stations to their network, achieving a total of 253 stations in the country, reported Hungary Today.

The acquisition comes after the agreement between Hungarian gas and oil group MOL, owner of Slovnaft, and Italian energy giant Eni, parent company of Agip, to take over all their petroleum product retailing operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania.

“The purchase of 41 Agip petrol stations will also increase the average sale of Slovnaft fuels per petrol station and will contribute to stronger perception of the company by customers,” Anton Molnár, spokesman for Slovnaft, told TASR agency.

Mol Romania was expected to finish rebranding the 42 stations they acquired from Agip by the end of August, as PetrolPlaza reported.
