Viva Energy appoint new chief for expanding retail business

Viva Energy has appointed their general manager of sales and marketing, Margaret Kennedy, to run their expanding service station business in Australia.

Last update:

The Australian energy company, and Shell licensee, is planning a $2 billion petrol station expansion for late 2015. The plan is to structure a sort of real estate investment trust which would own 400 gas stations worth around $5 million each, reported The Australian.

The person in charge of running the ambitious campaign is Margaret Kennedy, who previously worked for Shell during a 20-year period.

“Retail has always been an important contributor to the business, and now we’re pushing ahead with a pretty aggressive growth plan,” told Ms Kennedy to The Australian last June.

The Viva group, a local offshoot of Dutch trader Vitol, has committed to a $300 million upgrade in the fuel retailing business over the next five years.
