TruStar Energy continues expansion plans with new CNG station in Houston

TruStar Energy has announced the opening of a company-branded public CNG fueling station in Houston, Texas, supplying a growing demand from CNG-powered vehicles in the area.

Last update:

Recent data from the Texas Comptroller's office reveals that Texas fleet operators are purchasing natural gas in record numbers with sales of CNG increasing by 78% over 2014. The company's new station aims at satisfying continued growth of natural gas as a transportation fuel in the state´s market.

"In Texas, there's a shift taking place in the commercial transportation sector to natural gas and rightfully so - it's domestically produced, abundant and has tremendous economic and environmental benefits over diesel," said Adam Comora, President of TruStar Energy.

"Our new TruStar Energy CNG public fueling station in Houston will be a valuable resource for area fleets to operate more efficiently and profitably. This, in turn, will help spur the growth of this cleaner, alternative fuel in Texas,” he added.

TruStar is carrying out an aggressive, fast-paced expansion plan by opening new fueling stations across the U.S. They have opened three new sites since July and are currently constructing “dozens” of stations across the country.

CNG has become a popular alternative fuel for various reasons, mainly its lower exhaust and carbon emissions. It is also has a stable price untouched by international conflicts and events, which in recent years has been responsible for dramatic price fluctuations for gasoline and diesel. Natural gas engines have an average of 80 percent to 90 percent lower decibel levels than diesel engines.
