According to Mashable Australia, the new stations, which are the first Superchargers outside Melbourne and Sydney, were set up to support seamless intercity driving.

The Supercharger station in Goulburn has eight chargers installed while the Wodonga station has six.

A charger can supply, within 30 minutes, 120 kilowatt of direct current power to Tesla’s flagship sedan Model S, giving the car sufficient energy to travel around 270 kilometres (167.77 miles).

Tesla has six Superchargers and 30 Destination Charging stations in Australia.

It plans to open a station in Gundagai, make the temporary Euroa station permanent, and expand to Brisbane in 2016.

There are currently 520 Tesla Supercharger stations with 2,935 Superchargers around the world, according to the company website.
