Stavropol Krai is a prominent Russian region in the use of natural gas as motor fuel in a country with around 5,000 natural gas vehicles.

Three of the stations (Svetlograd, Ipatovo and Novoaleksandrovsk) are planned for completion before the end of 2015, and the fourth CNG station, for Izobilnyi, is scheduled for the end of the 1st half of 2016, reported NGV Global News.

“The key consumers of natural gas in the Stavropol Territory are commercial transport companies. There are about 153 companies in the region with natural gas fueled fleets. There are another 90 companies planning to switch to natural gas to take advantage of fuel economy,” said General Director of Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel, Mr. Mikhail Likhachev.

Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel was created by energy giant Gazprom in 2012 to consolidate and focus the company’s natural gas fuel and associated technology interests.
