Qatar Fuel (Woqod) opened its 30th gas station in Al Rayyan this week in a ceremony attended by company officials and senior figures from various business sectors.

The new gas station, inaugurated by the CEO Engr. Ibrahim Jaham al-Kuwari, cost QAR 20 million ($5.5m) to build and spreads over an area of 6000 sqm, reported the Peninsula Qatar.

“Opening of the new station reflects our ambitious plans to expand our network and accessibility within Qatar, to cater to the growing needs from the local market and ensure that high quality products and services are available to all our customers at their convenience across the country,” said Jaham al-Kuwari.

Woqod is currently undergoing an expansion campaign with the retailer hoping to bring the number of gas stations it operates to 100 by 2020 - after overseeing seven new openings this year.

According to a company release, Woqod has 10 additional service stations under construction, which are expected to open by end of 2015 and early 2016.
