The coffee shop, owned by Thai state-owned oil firm PTT Public Company, opened its first outlet at PTT SCTEX, the oil firm's biggest station in the country.

Nine more Café Amazon shops are set to open in existing PTT stations located in Dasmariñas, Cavite; Lubao, Pampanga; and Sta. Maria, Bulacan. Other existing Café Jungle that was initially introduced at select PTT stations will soon be converted into Café Amazon, according to a company release.

The coffee chain is also open to franchising and be operated outside PTT stations.

“What makes it different from other coffee shops, Café Amazon is a Thai brand that promotes nature or environment, has its own recipe, and has the No. 1 market share in Thailand,” said Sukanya Seriyothin, PTT Philippines' president and chief executive officer.

Café Amazon has more than 1,500 branches in Thailand as well as in Laos and Cambodia.
