New Zealand: Z temporarily closes car washes to save water
Z petrol stations and its subsidiary Caltex have announced temporary closure of their car washes to support Auckland's water conservation campaign, reports New Zealand Herald.
The city is facing a water shortage after last week's storms caused silt-filled water enter into the system and reduced Ardmore Water Treatment Plant's capacity to treat water.
More than 20 car washes of the fuel station network were closed in the Auckland region since end of last week to take part in reducing water demand.
