Costco opens first store in Iceland
Costco has opened its first store in Garðabær, a municipality near Iceland's capital Reykjavík, reports icenews.is.
It's the biggest opening in Europe since the American member-only wholesaler arrived in the continent in 1993, with hundreds of people queuing for offers.
In fact, even before opening, Costco had already 35,000 members in the country and the number is expected to grow.
The 20,000-square meter store features facilities including a tire store, a café, and its self-service station which is becoming increasingly popular for selling the cheapest petrol in Iceland.
