Kärcher: Biological water recycling for gantry car washes

Biologically clean

Kärcher now offers the Biosaver, a biological water recycling system for gantry car washes. The water is treated with the help of microorganisms. With a recycling ratio of up to 98%, this compact system is suitable for all car washes in car dealerships, workshops, filling stations and vehicle care centres that use treated water.

The water is reliably recycled in four stages: first, a mud trap retains and deposits undissolved floatables. The next tank contains microorganisms that almost completely metabolise and break down dissolved organic substances such as oil, grease or tensides in the water. The third step is to feed the water into an overground secondary clarification system where separated residues such as surplus mineral sludge are filtered out. Finally, the recycled water is collected in a tank and re-used for the next washes. This highly efficient method enables nearly all washing water to be re-used.

The Biosaver’s compact design is a particular advantage, enabling installation even in small utility rooms. Monitoring, regulation and servicing, such as monthly checks of filters and ventilation system, take very little time. The system is suitable for gantry car washes with a flow capacity of up to 2,500 or 4,000 litres per hour.
