Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) has launched its 44th petrol station in Romania. The new filling station has opened in the city of Craiova, on the highways between Serbia and Bulgaria.

The first petrol station to be commissioned in this region features three counters for fuel pump and a electric vehicle charging system, reports local media. The station has the capacity to simultaneously assist four small vehicles and two large trucks with fuel. An Azerbaijani corner has been set up at the station to promote the Made in Azerbaijan brand.

SOCAR has filling stations in 21 Romanian regions to date, becoming one of the five key players in the country’s energy market. The company operates in Romania through its subsidiary SOCAR Petroleum SA, established in 2011 to manage the petroleum supply in Romania in accordance with international standards. Investments made by SOCAR Romania amounted to $ 77.7 million in the period 2011-2017.

ROMGAZ and TRANSGAZ are among the most important Romanian companies in the natural gas sector collaborating with SOCAR.
