English Español USA: Flyers Energy buys Firebird fuel chain

Just under 100 unattended fuel stations will be added to the Flyers Energy network as they expand into three new states.

Last update:

Flyers Energy has acquired 99 unattended cardlock fuel stations in the Southwest under the brands Firebird Fuel and CFN (Commercial Fuel Network).

The acquisitions fit with their plan to grow nationwide with the company now operating in 23 states with more than 400 locations.

"Firebird Fuel presented an excellent opportunity for us to add three contiguous states to our western US geography,” said CEO Tom Di Mercurio.

This string of locations connects the West Coast-based Flyers brand, which goes as far as Arizona, to existing Quick Fuel sites in east Texas.  Quick Fuel locations are primarily found in the Eastern and Midwest markets.

The 99 sites are divided in unattended fuelling "cardlock" stations and 52 additional CFN card-acceptance locations in four southwestern states.

In addition to CFN acceptance, Flyers locations accept all major fleet cards. "The fueling experience won't change at all for Firebird customers.  The two companies already use the same fuel network," said Kris Kanak, Director of Sales and Marketing for Flyers Energy.
