Spain: Redexis to open two gas filling stations on Majorca island
Located in the towns of Felanitx and Calvià, the NGV stations will be available from December 2020 and January 2021.
Redexis is building two new natural gas vehicle (NGV) refueling stations on the island of Mallorca, Spain. Located in the towns of Felanitx and Calvià, the gas filling stations will be available from December 2020 and January 2021, respectively.
The stations in Felanitx and Calvià will mainly serve a total of 111 buses operated by the Balearic Islands public transport service (TIB), with the possibility of extending the supply to other transport and industry companies, as well as to private customers.
The site in Felanitx will service a total of 61 buses with a consumption of 38.8 GWh/year; and the Calvià location will supply compressed natural gas (CNG) to a total of 50 buses with a consumption of 16,9 GWh/year.
In the Balearic Islands, Redexis supplies gas to a total of six gas filling stations located at TIB-related companies' premises in Majorca, including the two sites that the company is currently building.
Redexis' NGV refuelling network in Spain
With the launching of its two new gas filling stations in Majorca, Redexis continues to increase the NGV refuelling network in Spain. In June 2019, Redexis signed an agreement with Cepsa to create the largest network of natural gas refuelling stations in Spain. With a total investment of 60 million euros, this alliance aims to reach 80 gas refuelling stations in Spain by the end of 2023.
Redexis has also signed agreements with leading car manufacturers, including Seat and Fiat, with a view to promoting the sale of CNG vehicles and the construction of new gas refuelling stations in Spain.
