YPF's board of directors has approved the appointment of Pablo González as the oil company's new president. González will succeed Guillermo Nielsen, who has held the position since December 2019.

His appointment as president of YPF has been prompted by Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, reports infoestacion.com.ar. González will be in direct contact with Fernández de Kirchner to address the main issues on the country's oil sector agenda.

"I am a person who comes from Argentina's inland, who understands the problems we have, and who believes that the greatest value a company has is its people. I hope that we will continue working towards the challenge of generating energy for the country's growth and putting YPF in the place it has always been and deserves," said

Pablo González after his appointment as president.
Gonzalez is 52 years old, a lawyer and notary public from the National University of La Plata and holds a Diploma in Hydrocarbons Law from the Austral University. He has extensive experience in the national and regional public sector.
