Russia: TATNEFT, KAMAZ will launch a joint network of LNG filling stations
Three LNG filling units will open at TATNEFT locations in the Republic of Tatarstan this year, with a further 11 LNG stations planned to be opened in 2022.
Russian oil and gas company TATNEFT and Tatarstan automobile manufacturing giant PJSC KAMAZ are collaborating on the launching of a joint liquified natural gas (LNG) filling station network in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, according to a press release.
Three LNG filling units will open at TATNEFT locations already this year, with a further 11 LNG stations planned to be opened in 2022, says the company.
The plans provide for the project to be implemented at the existing retail and distribution network facilities located on busy sections of federal highways M-5, M-7 and M-10.
KAMAZ already started the production of LNG-powered vehicles, and plans to introduce modern freight trucks which will also use LNG as fuel. Other automakers also demonstrate their interest in the possibility of refueling with LNG at the existing TATNEFT’s network of filling stations.
The retail and sales network of TATNEFT is expanding both through new construction and the acquisition of existing facilities, as well as with the proposal of refueling services covering the range from traditional fuels to LNG and electric vehicles.
