HTEC Hydrogen Technology & Energy Corporation (HTEC) is opening a new division, HTEC Québec, to support Eastern Canada’s growing interest in hydrogen. HTEC Québec will deliver hydrogen production, distribution, and dispensing solutions to partners and customers in Quebec, Atlantic Canada, and Nunavut.

Based in Montreal, the new division will be active as of July 1. Hydrogen industry veteran Pierre Gauthier will lead the new HTEC Québec, according to a company’s press release.

“Across Eastern Canada, we’re seeing growing market interest in decarbonization solutions involving hydrogen,” says Colin Armstrong, HTEC’s President and CEO. “The Province of Quebec has set clear government targets and policies supporting carbon-emission reductions, and there’s strong, proactive industry commitment to deliver low-carbon transportation solutions to customers and consumers. These are just two important reasons why HTEC Québec is an exciting next step in the evolution of our business.”

HTEC has an established presence in Quebec hydrogen infrastructure already, having provided a station in the province in 2019. Today, HTEC supports Toyota and Harnois in the operations of the retail hydrogen station in Quebec City, and work is well underway to expand HTEC’s Quebec Fueling Network. HTEC has two retail hydrogen stations in design and construction, two in late-stage development, and four in early-stage development.

Currently, HTEC has 17 hydrogen fueling stations operating or in development in Canada and the United States.
