Last update:

Dourogás GNV, in collaboration with HAVI, will supply next week the first refueling of heavy vehicles with biomethane from a totally renewable source in Portugal, according to a company’s press release.

The service will be available at the Santo António dos Cavaleiros filling station, in the municipality of Loures.

The biomethane incorporated at the Dourogás filling station comes from a demonstration of concept project that allows the production of 100% renewable natural gas from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste, says the company.

Grupo Dourogás started supplying natural gas in the North of Portugal through LNG plants in the mid-90s. Currently, Dourogas NGV, part of Dourogas Group, runs 8 CNG and C-LNG filling stations covering the main a part of the Portuguese territory. The Dourogas NGV stations serve daily about 50 heavy-duty trucks and garbage urban vehicles, as well more than 300 city bus.
