English Español Q&A with David Crouse (DFS): “We are really well positioned for the future”

PetrolPlaza visited the Dover Fueling Solution (DFS) headquarters in Austin, Texas, to discuss the current state of the company five years after its creation, see their latest innovations, and discuss industry challenges with David Crouse, President.

Last update:

David Crouse has 25 years of experience in the petroleum equipment industry. He was the President of OPW Fueling Components for 8 years before taking charge of Dover Fueling Solution at the end of 2016.

With the acquisitions of ClearView, Fairbanks, ProGauge, Tokheim and Wayne Fueling Systems, Dover decided to unite all brands under a single umbrella, creating one of the strongest equipment and service suppliers in the fueling industry.

In the interview we discuss the challenge of bringing six different company cultures into a single way of working. The biggest focus over the last five years has been integration. The goal now is to be the “product leadership business in the industry.”

When looking at the next five years, David Crouse says they will follow three major paths. “Innovation and new product development in house, such as the Anthem user experience platform and the DX cloud platform. Another path will be through partnerships, like the one we have with Microsoft, EdgePetrol and Techniche. Lastly, we will continue to pursue acquisitions. The most recent being AvaLAN.”

David also discusses some of the latest regulations impacting the industry, becoming a supplier for any energy source that a retailer needs, how fast will the energy transition take place, and the expansion of commerce options at c-stores and gas stations.
