English Español Gazpromneft sticks QR codes to tip employees

Leading Russian service station chain has put up QR codes to make it easier for customers to tip station attendants.

Gazpromneft has introduced a new digital service for customers to transfer tips to filling station personnel via a QR code.

The service is already available at almost 700 stations in Russia. It is planned to implement this function at another 140 Gazpromneft service stations by the end of November, reports superstation.pro.

Customers can now thank any employee of the filling station and leave a tip by QR-code. There are placed by the dispensers as well as the cash register. One scan the QR-code, choose a station attendant and specify the amount of money to be transferred.

"At our petrol stations the clients only enjoy quality fuel and tasty coffee but also the service, for which they want to thank the employees of the stations. We take consumers' opinions into account and hear that cash is often simply not on hand at a time when there is a desire to say thank you for a quality service," said Oleg Kuzmenkov, head of Gazpromneft's network in Russia.

Gazprom Neft has a network of around 1,200 in Russia.
