Spain: Ballenoil to open 90 gas stations over the next 3 years

The largest independent fuel station operator in Spain will invest over €40 million to achieve the expansion.

Spanish fuel retailer Ballenoil is targeting 90 new service stations as part of its expansion plan over the next 3 years. The company will invest over €40 million to achieve the ambitious goal.

The independent operator will open 22 sites across Spain this year. So far Ballenoil has opened three sites in Guadalajara, Cádiz and Valencia.

As a discount retailer, the operator will try to compete with other brands by offering up to 20 cents per litre discounts. Fuels on site include Diésel Excellent, Excellent 95 and Diésel Excellent PLUS. The new sites will also include automatic car wash sites Ballena Azul.

Ballenoil closed 2021 with over 334 million litres of additives sold, a 42% increase compared to the previous year, and also surpassed the figure of 16 million refuellings.
