India: Jio-bp to support Nexus Malls’ EV strategy

The joint venture between RIL and bp will roll out EV charging stations and battery swapping locations across the network of stores and malls.

Jio-bp has partnered up with Nexus Malls to support its EV strategy for the deployment of charging stations and battery swapping stations. The joint venture formed by RIL and bp will roll out the sites throughout the 17 malls that make up the retail network across 13 cities of India.

To accelerate EV adoption, Nexus will encourage its customers to charge vehicles at their malls amongst other environment conscious initiatives.

Jip-bp will be in charge of installing 24/7 charging infrastructure for two and four wheeler EVs. In the first phase, these charging stations will be available at Nexus malls in Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad from June of 2022.

This announcement comes after the recently announced collaboration between Jio-bp, MG Motor India and Castrol India to further advance the country’s electric mobility. Jio-bp currently operates in this market under the Ji-bp pulse brand, which has a mobile app available in which customers can find nearby stations for EV charging.
