Aral has officially opened its first REWE To Go store at an owner-operated service station in North Rhine-Westphalia. As the first site to adopt the store concept, it marks the launch of the offer to include this format so that forecourt owners can benefit from two strong brands.

With the opening of this first location, service station partner Wilhelm Janssen is relying on a well thought-out concept that has proven itself in practice since 2016. Around 800 Aral locations also offer fresh food as well as cold and hot meals through the branded store.

"We are convinced that with REWE and Aral we have two strong partners on our side. Visually, our new store makes an excellent impression. So far, we have received exclusively positive feedback from our customers. We must emphasise the professionalism with which Aral has carried out the conversion," said Wilhelm Janssen, owner of the service station at the official opening of the new store.

Research shows that REWE To Go can offer service station partners a considerable increase in sales. In addition, category management experts ensure that the product range is constantly adapted to changing customer needs. This applies not only to the selection of products, but also to their arrangement in the store and their visual design.

"We at Lekkerland are very pleased that REWE To Go will also be found at owner-operated Aral service stations in the future. This makes REWE To Go available to even more customers. I wish the Janssen family and their team every success," said Philipp Pauly, Senior Vice President Energy Stations and Convenience Stores at Lekkerland, the REWE Group subsidiary that bundles convenience activities such as REWE To Go.

REWE To Go is part of Aral's "Dealer Offer". This includes all the products and services that service station owners can use as part of a closer cooperation with the company. In addition to the convenience offer, these include participation in the PAYBACK customer loyalty program and the integration of a SuperWash system. Aral also supports service station partners with the integration of Aral pulse ultrafast charging stations for e-vehicles and with station management.
