Last update:

BayWa Mobility Solutions has signed a framework agreement with the energy group Vattenfall to develop fast-charging infrastructure across retail parking lots in Germany.

During 2023, Vattenfall plans to equip around 200 locations in semi-public areas with fast charging sites with two to six chargers per location. As general contractor, its partner will take over the construction process, from planning to commissioning as Vattenfall takes over operation.

"In the two years that BMS has been around, we have made a good name for ourselves in the industry. Our market share in installing fast charging points was seven percent in 2022," said Christian Krüger, Managing Director of BayWa.

According to the German Federal Network Agency, as of October 2022, BMS has installed around 800 charging points of the existing 11,523, primarily on retail parking lots.
