OKQ8 has signed a framework agreement with shopping center operator Steen & Strøm to install a total of 240 charging points in four major malls in Sweden and Denmark. The first 50 charging points will be installed in the Allum shopping center in Partille outside Gothenburg and will be the country's largest charging point installed by a single supplier.

Over 60 chargers will be installed in each of four Steen & Strøm shopping centers. Allum and Emporia in Sweden, Fields in Copenhagen and Bruuns Galleri in Aarhus, Denmark. Both Emporia and Allum register approximately 12 million visitors annually.

"Electric car charging often takes place outside the traditional fuel station. Therefore, we make sure to set up super fast chargers both at our existing stations and in places where people move around. We can see that many electric car owners are asking for charging points in connection with shopping and parking, so it feels natural to us that we can now make this possible by installing super fast chargers at two large shopping malls in both Gothenburg and Malmö," said Agnes Palinski, Communications Manager at OKQ8.

In December 2021, OKQ8 opened its first super fast chargers and in 2022 an additional 112 charging points were installed at OKQ8's manned stations in Sweden. In 2023, the company continues to increase the availability of super fast chargers throughout the country.
