A new electric vehicle (EV) charging station has opened in Mexico and is already considered one of the fastest facilities across the world. The site is a joint venture between QiOn, supplier and manufacturer of electric chargers, and XC Power, operator of the charging network.

Located in Puebla, the facility is equipped with different outlets to charge any EV no matter the brand or country of origin. With the appearance of a traditional service station, the charging site is built with laminated wood structures and solar panels, but sells electricity from the state-owned grid.

According to a report by Forbes Mexico, both QiOn and XC Power chose Puebla to build their first charging station due to the relevance of the automotive industry for the state. Two more locations are scheduled to be opened in Mexico City moving forward.

In addition, the first Supercool Mobility Center has been integrated into the station to act as a business space for companies dedicated to sustainable mobility.
