Sheetz is moving forward with its expansion plans by bumping up the opening of its first Michigan store. Originally scheduled for opening during 2025, the company now aims to establish the outlet by late 2024.

As reported by C-Store Dive, the information was confirmed by Brian Dinges, assistant vice president of real estate at Sheetz, in a statement. The company representative specified that the store will be located in Romulus, featuring a “restaurant-style experience” alongside indoor and outdoor seating, self-service kiosks and drive-thrus.

Apart from its restaurant-style foodservice, the first Michigan store is set to feature both standard fuel and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along with a car wash. Dinges also confirmed “ambitious” plans to expand across the city after establishing its first location.

Sheetz currently operates 679 convenience stores across the country. The Pennsylvania-based company has extended its operations throughout Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
