English Español De Haan service stations in the Netherlands to feature solar panels

The first 72 panels have been installed at a bp gas station and the company aims to end the year with 15 locations equipped with photovoltaic units.

Last update:

De Haan Minerale Oliën has started to install solar panels across its network of service stations in the Netherlands.

The retailer has partnered with SolarNRG, one of the largest suppliers and installers of solar power systems in the country, to develop the project. The first 72 solar panels have been installed at a bp gas station in Diemen. In addition to locations under its own brand, De Haan operates sites under the Shell, bp and Esso brands.

Current De Haan stations aim to provide today's customers with all their needs. Sustainable energy, which is generated by the solar panels on the roofs of the gas stations, is an excellent contribution to this. While customers use their services, energy is generated which in turn adds an extra dimension to their visit.

SolarNRG has stated that the next stations to be installed with photovoltaic assets are Shell Emerald in Delfgauw, Haan Almere and gas stations in Breda and Rotterdam, among others.

By the end of the year, the retailer aims to have fifteen stations equipped with solar panels. De Haan Minerale Oliën operates over 180 stations spread across the Netherlands.
