Shell Deutschland GmbH and the redos Group, a real estate firm specialized in large-scale retail, will promote the development of charging infrastructure at retail parks and other retail locations in Germany.

Both companies have partnered to install up to eight DC charging points at each of 57 locations throughout the country in the coming years.

These fast and ultra-fast charging points will be established in parking lots and supplied with 100% green electricity. The equipment will offer a charging capacity of 150 to 400 kW.

"We want to be the partner of choice and thus make it easier for customers to switch to a battery electric vehicle because they can charge whenever and wherever they want. Our Shell Recharge charging stations in front of retail parks will serve different customers while they shop and thus both partners support the spread of electric vehicles," said Linda van Schaik, General Manager of Mobility DACH and responsible for the Shell Mobility business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Shell's goal is to operate over 70,000 open charging points worldwide by 2025 and over 200,000 by 2030.
