India: HPCL-Airtel Payments alliance turns 1,500 fuel stations into convenient bank points

Airtel Payments Bank customers can now make cashless payments every time they purchase fuel at 1,500 Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) stations across the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, reports Deccan Chronicle.

The transaction fee-free payments can me made via MyAirtel App, the company announced.

Aside from digital payments, Airtel Payments Bank customers may also open new bank accounts, make cash deposits and withdrawals, and transfer money at these fuel stations.

The partnership has boosted Airtel’s retail base of more than 40,000 retail banking points.
