USA: Stinker Stores acquires J.H. Kaspar Oil

The company will rebrand the four sites after the acquisition.

Stinker Stores Inc. has acquired J.H. Kaspar Oil Co. The transaction includes one truckstop, three convenience stores, two cardlocks and a bulk fuel and lubricants business in Wyoming, reports the Rawlins Times.

“I’m excited to grow our footprint in Wyoming with the purchase of J.H. Kaspar. The company is a natural fit for Stinker with its team of high-performing employees and customer-centric culture," said owner of Boise, Idaho-based Stinker Stores, Charley Jones.

“It took some time to find the right buyer," said Joe Kaspar, owner of Rawlins-based J.H. Kaspar Oil, in the release. "This company was started by my father in 1958. I’ve known our customers and employees for decades and they are an extension of my family. As I got to know the Stinker team, it was clear to me that they would embrace what we created and continue our culture. It was just a natural fit, and I’m excited about the opportunities and resources that will now be available to our team.”

Farris Lind founded Stinker Stores in 1936. Stinker Stores operates today approximately 110 c-stores and truckstops in Idaho under the Sinclair brand. The family of companies also includes Arrowrock Supply, a tobacco and grocery wholesale distribution company servicing Stinker Stores and retailers in Idaho, and Westpoint Transportation, a trucking company specializing in the transportation of motor fuels and petroleum products in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.
