Spain: EROSKI, AVIA consolidate their agreement to expand c-stores

There are currently 13 EROSKI RAPID franchises in AVIA service stations in Spain.

EROSKI and AVIA consolidate their agreement for the expansion of franchised supermarkets under the EROSKI RAPID banner at AVIA petrol stations in Spain.

Since both companies began their collaboration, 13 c-stores have opened at AVIA stations throughout the country. A further 13 new franchises are planned for 2021.

“We are making a very positive balance in this year of operation together with one of the main petroleum operators with national projection. Thanks to this agreement, we can continue to grow together with them, always at the forefront in understanding the evolution of customer needs,” said Enrique Martínez, EROSKI Franchise Director.

“We are very happy with what we have achieved during this first year and that is why we want to continue collaborating and benefit from all the experience, know-how and strength of one of the leading national food brands,” explained Mikel Arrien, Business Director of AVIA Service Stations.

The establishments operating under the EROSKI RAPID banner offer a commercial model adapted to small shops, of up to 140 m², in very urban areas and tourist areas with a high population density.

This agreement consolidates the expansion of the EROSKI RAPID convenience model, which already has 28 shops and plans to open a dozen more shops in 2021 and to continue betting on this market opportunity based on convenience and the consumer habits of fast, easy and impulse shopping.

AVIA is one of the leading oil operators in Spain with almost 200 service stations and a network of 35 diesel distribution stores.
