The partnership has up to 30 more joint fast-charging locations planned to be rolled out by the end of the year.

Last update:

EnBW and the REWE Group have already set up over 100 joint fast-charging stations into operation after nearly a year of launching their partnership.

In October 2022, the two companies opened the first EnBW fast-charging station at a REWE supermarket. Now, customers across Germany can charge up to 400 kilometers of range at REWE and PENNY locations, depending on the vehicle, during a 20-minute shopping trip.

"We are delighted that, together with our partner EnBW, we have been able to implement around 100 fast-charging stations at our REWE and PENNY stores in just one year. The 100th commissioning of the charging infrastructure is an impressive reflection of the successful cooperation between REWE Group and EnBW in the field of e-mobility," says Sebastian Engels, Head of Real Estate Asset Management at REWE Group.

By the end of the year, up to 30 further fast-charging locations will also be in operation as part of the partnership.

"Our partnership with the REWE Group is essential for sustainable mobility. Together, we are significantly increasing the charging options in the retail sector,” said Lars Walch, Vice President Sales E-Mobility at EnBW and responsible for the further development of the EnBW HyperNetz.

EnBW operates the largest fast-charging network in Germany, allowing more than 3,500 cars to charge at the same time. The energy company is relying on strong partnerships, such as with the REWE Group, to expand the network. By 2030, the firm plans to operate 30,000 public fast-charging points, which corresponds to an almost eight-fold increase in current capacity.
