Last update:

Greenpoint has opened the first hydrogen filling station on Goeree-Overflakkee, a result of years of cooperation between the Van Peperstraten Group of Oude-Tonge and Van Kessel of Milheeze.

The company has upgraded its 2019-founded service station, transforming it into a full-fledged Clean Energy Hub with an extensive range of sustainable and emission-free fuels. Prior to this addition, drivers could already fill up with cleaner fuels such as HVO fossil-free diesel, CNG and LNG, as well as a fast charger for electric vehicles.

This innovative filling station fits with the plans and ambitions of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, which has been pioneering in the field of sustainability for years.

“This hydrogen filling station fits well with our plan to investigate what green hydrogen can mean for the future of this island and the whole of the Netherlands. With the H2GO program we are the testing ground for the rest of the country,” said Councilman Jaap Willem Eijkenduijn of the Municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, present at the opening event.

Greenpoint aims to fulfill the energy transition goals set out in the Climate Agreement. The company develops logistics hubs throughout the Netherlands into Clean Energy Hubs with sustainable solutions. Oude-Tonge is the 3rd hydrogen filling station of the Greenpoint group, with the previously opened hydrogen refueling stations located in Nieuwegein and Dordrecht.
