Charging stations in the United States continue to increase at a steady pace, according to a recent report by Bloomberg.

The latest research reveals that almost 600 public fast-charging locations have been established in the country during the first three months of the year. Bloomberg Green states that this represents a 7.6% increase since the end of 2023.

Federal data shows that there are almost 8,200 of these locations currently operating across the country, which translates into one for every 15 gas stations.

This first-quarter growth has been a direct consequence of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The $5 billion initiative was put in place to fund projects that aim to diminish charging anxiety for drivers.

In this new landscape of growing EV charging infrastructure, Tesla has risen as responsible for more than one quarter of them. BloombergNEF’s estimations reflect that annual worldwide public-charging revenue will grow to $127 billion by 2030.
