Venezuela and Uruguay to intensify exchange oil for food
The governments of Venezuela and Uruguay have reached an accord under which Venezuelans will have access to more Uruguayan agricultural products in exchange for exports of crude oil and products.
The information was confirmed in mid-April by Uruguay foreign ministry sources and comes after Venezuela made changes to a bilateral exchange mechanism in place for a decade.
According to information published by Alexander’s Gas & Oil Connection, Venezuela has similar accords with other countries exchanging fuel for products like coffee from Nicaragua and paper from Trinidad and Tobago.
