CNG-powered trucks to be offered in US at same price of diesel trucks

A limited number of CNG-powered trucks will be offered in the US at the same price of diesel trucks as a result of a marketing alliance involving companies Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies and Gain Clean Fuel, according to a company press statement released May 6.

“This program is offered in conjunction with and financed by a CNG fuel contract provided by Gain where very attractive CNG fuel pricing can be fixed for up to five years,” the statement said. The cost of converting the vehicle so that it can run on CNG is amortized in payments over the period.

The program is offered in several areas across the central US.

Quantum works with natural gas fuel storage systems and the integration of vehicle system technologies. U.S. Gain is a compressed natural gas (CNG) provider.
