Shell opens its 83rd fuel station in India

Shell has opened a new station in Beguluru city, bringing its total number of stations in India to 83.

Through this opening, Shell now has 28 fuel stations in Bengaluru. The international fuel retailer is present in the states of Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Assam, reports Business Standard.

“The regulatory environment is getting increasingly conducive for fuel retail business in India. With the diesel price deregulation last year, our fuels are now available at market price across all outlets. We are delighted to [...] strengthen our footprint in Karnataka in line with our growth strategy for India,” commented Ravi Sundararajan, General Manager, Shell Retail India.

Oil companies are expanding their retailing networks in India encouraged by an increasing demand for petroleum products, while the government´s lift of diesel subsidies has boosted the capacity of pricate retailers to expand their business.

“We are confident that locals from the area along with transient public and long distance travellers will take full advantage of our retail offerings," added Sundararajan.
