Turkey: SOCAR acquires fuel terminal from OMV

OMV Petrol Ofisi agrees sale of Aliaga Terminal to SOCAR for further improvement of the company's terminal network efficiency.

Last update:

OMV Petrol Ofisi A.S., a wholly owned subsidiary of OMV Aktiengesellschaft, agreed to sell its Aliaga Terminal to a group of international investors led by SOCAR.

The Aliaga Terminal is located near the city of Izmir in Turkey and operates approximately 200,000 cbm of fuel storage capacity. The terminal also houses LPG storage facilities with 45,000 cbm capacity. SOCAR is constructing the STAR refinery nearby OMV Petrol Ofisi Aliaga Terminal. The refinery is planned to start operations by 2018.

OMV Petrol Ofisi A.S. will continue to use the fuel and LPG terminal in Aliaga based on a long term storage and throughput agreement. Under this agreement OMV Petrol Ofisi has access to the import and storage facilities, and therefore retains full product sourcing flexibility.
