US fuel station offer to give free gasoline on Mother’s Day gets ‘viral’ attention

A relatively inexpensive marketing effort by a fuel station in the State of Michigan, in which drivers who were also mothers were offered free fuel to celebrate their day, has received viral attention online as well as published stories in Tribune Media Wire on May 10 and also in Fox.

According to the report, a mother and son who jointly own a BP fuel station in Michigan offered to give $10 worth of free gasoline to every mother that drove to their pumps Sunday morning during a one-hour period.

“The two were working the pumps themselves and wishing each of their visitors a wonderful day,” the report said.

About a hundred mothers went to the fuel station after seeing “hand-made” signs that the mother-and-son owners had designed to promote their unique Mother’s Day deal.
