Start-up brings fuel delivery to US cities

No time to stop at a gas station and want someone to bring you some fuel? If you live in Los Angeles or San Diego you can use the start-up Purple to get a stranger to fill up your gas tank.

Last update:

This innovative system allows drivers in a hurry to get their fuel at their preferred location by using their phones – no need to take a trip to the gas station.

Through Purple users pay by credit card at the time of ordering the service, and a “courier” wearing a purple t-shirt will come to refuel your car in a time frame of one to three hours, reported Los Angeles Times.

Each “courier” will be able to add between 10 and 15 gallons per time, which they bring in portable gas cans.

According to Purple, thousands of new users have signed up in their first two markets, Los Angeles and San Diego.

The price of the fuel delivered by Purple is almost on par with that of the traditional gas stations, while the mobile app includes updated data with comparative prices according to the local market.
