The new service is an expansion of collaboration which designated Family Mart as an alternative and convenient drop off points in 2015.

Users who have a library card, are registered online as a convenient store service user, and paid USD 6.29 as deposit can now pick up the books they have borrowed at any designated c-store anywhere in the country.

Members can borrow up to five books each time but also have to pay USD 1.57 for the delivery, reported Taiwan’s Central News Agency.

"By increasing the number of its service spots from 74 to nearly 10,000 around Taiwan, and prolonging its service time to 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, people will be able to get books any time from close to where they live," stated the Taipei Public Library.
