Fresh and Easy stores to see closings in Arizona, Nevada, Southern California

Fresh and Easy stores will soon see 30 closings in Southern California as well as another 20 closings in Arizona and Nevada, according to information attributed to the company and published in mid-March by several media including the San Jose Mercury News.

Fresh and Easy is testing new concepts, the company said: The sites will be destined to another retail use.

Fresh & Easy has said it wants to differentiate itself from other convenience stores by its fresh food offerings. Three of the store closings are in the city of Los Angeles. Seven of the closings will be in the Bay Area.

Fresh and Easy entered the market in 2007, an attempt by British supermarket firm Tesco to enter the competitive space, according to the US media reports.
