Certas Energy, Peel Ports open 24-hour fuel site in Liverpool

Fuel and lubricant supplier, Certas Energy, and Peel Ports Group have worked in partnership to launch a filling station that will provide diesel, gas oil, and AdBlue to Port of Liverpool users.

It took twelve weeks to build the recently-inaugurated state-of-the-art fueling station. High speed pumps that pump 120 litres of fuel per minute will allow eight vehicles to fill up at the same time, according to a company release.

Companies and port users are unanimous in saying that the fueling station offers convenience.

“For our drivers it’s a very convenient location to refuel; with us being a port based haulier it caters greatly for our needs," said Joe Long of Long Haul Logistics.

Andrew Goodwin, National Bunker Manager for Certas Energy, added that "(port users) will be able to refuel on entering or leaving the port which means that they do not have to detour off route before making their onward journeys."

"It will make the journey of hauliers more convenient and efficient, and will provide a key service at the doorstep to the new Liverpool2 container terminal," said Andrew Martin, Group Land and Property Director at Peel Ports Group.
