The new locations at the Shell service station Hans-Vogel-Str. 55 are situated directly on A73 motorway slip road Fürth-Poppenreuth. The facilities have a capacity of around 200 kilograms of hydrogen – enough to refuel 40 to 50 vehicles a day.

With this opening, there are now 64 H2 filling stations in Germany. H2 MOBILITY is opening new hydrogen refueling stations in Germany every two weeks, according to the Head of Network at H2 Mobility, Lorenz Jung. The company expects that there will be 100 hydrogen filling stations in Germany by the end of 2019.

Bavaria is leading the field with 14 stations

Bavaria already has hydrogen filling stations in cities including Munich, Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, Regensburg, and Geiselwind, and soon also in Erlangen and Würzburg – at currently 14, it has the most of any German federal state. In the Nuremberg metropolitan region alone there will be a total of eight hydrogen filling stations, just recently opened Bayreuth and Berg bei Hof.
