Rolande, market leader in LNG in the Netherlands, and the Belgian G&V Energy Group opened a new LNG filling station in Habay La Vieille, in the Ardennes. Following the opening of the LNG station in Antwerp in August, this is the second step towards a comprehensive LNG network in Belgium.

The new 24/7 public self-service station has two LNG pumps and a capacity to fill up 150 vehicles per day. The station was already opened for diesel at the end of last year.

Habay station is located on a strategic point on the traffic axis connecting Germany with France, and channelling traffic from the Netherlands and Wallonia to the south, according to CEO of G&V Energy Group, Xavier Dewulf.

A third Belgian site will follow in 2021 to further expand the network, announced CEO of Rolande, Jolon van der Schuit.

The new station in the south of Belgium, like the previously opened station in Antwerp, is part of the IOLNG4EU project, which is 50% financed by the Connecting Europe Facility programme and which stimulates the further roll-out of (Bio-)LNG in road transport.
