English Español Sol Puerto Rico to rebrand entire Shell station network to Mobil

The oil company has signed a new partnership with ExxonMobil for the distribution of its fuel products in the local market.

Sol Puerto Rico Limited has confirmed a new partnership with ExxonMobil for the deployment of the Mobil brand throughout its network of service stations in the country. Starting on the 1st of September, the company will rebrand all of its current Shell stations with the new signage and offer the fuel products of its new partner.

"We are excited that our experienced, passionate and dedicated SOl team, with vast experience in the marketplace, will lead this powerful value proposition for our retailers and consumers. We are convinced that this important relationship with ExxonMobil, our corporate culture and commitment to the highest operational standards and safety, our strategic and proven marketing management, together with our retailers will position Mobil as the leading fuel brand in Puerto Rico," said Nanette Pagán-Soto, Brand, Communications and External Affairs Manager for El Grupo Sol.

The agreement consists in the distribution of fuel products throughout its network of 177 forecourts in Puerto Rico. The deployment of the brand and products will be supported by the local Sol team in the country, as well as the regional office of the Sol Group and its parent company, Parkland Corporation. According to a report by news site El Nuevo Día, Sol lost its licensing to sell gasoline under the Shell brand and its contract with the company is set to conclude in the coming months.

"Our commitment is to present the most relevant value propositions to our customers and consumers, through the highest quality products, service and facilities, and we are convinced that we have made the best alliance to achieve this," added Mayra Blancovich, Category Manager for Fuels and Programmes at El Grupo Sol.
