English Español Walmart plans to install EV chargers across thousands U.S. locations

The retailer will establish new fast chargers at both Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the country.

Last update:

Walmart has announced plans to build its own electric vehicle fast-charging network  at thousands of its and Sam’s Club locations by 2030.

The firm plans to build upon its current 1,300 EV fast-charging stations already available at more than 280 U.S. facilities. In a recent blog post, the company stated that it is uniquely positioned to deliver a convenient charging option to boost e-mobility adoption in rural, suburban or urban areas.

In addition, this network can offer customers and members the chance to pick up essentials for their families or grab a bite to eat while they charge. The brand also aims to maintain its Every Day Low Price motto for charging service to ease transportation costs.

“Our goal is to meet the needs of customers and members where they live and open the road to those driving across the country. Easy access to on-the-go charging is a game-changer for drivers who have been hesitant to purchase an EV for concerns they won’t be able to find a charger in a clean, bright and safe location when needed,” states the post.

This plan marks the latest investment in Walmart’s efforts to transform its business and product supply chains to be more regenerative, in this case helping reduce emissions and increase efficiencies for customers.
